Born in California, John is a graduate of the Class of 1984
from Molokai High School. He attended
the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1984-1986.
John started his career at the Sheraton Molokai, serving in a number of positions that included: Server, Groundskeeper, Bellman and Musician.
In 1994, John joined Molokai Ranch. Over the course of his 15-year tenure, John rotated throughout the organization, serving in Shop Maintenance to Purchasing Manager, Rooms Manager, and General Manager of the Maunaloa Lodge Hotel Operations, until the Ranchʻs closure in 2008.
Since the closure of Molokai Ranch, John took on the role of Resident Manager at Paniolo Hale Condominiums on Molokai's west end, where he continues to work today. John is also part-owner of Hiroʻs Ohana Grill with his brothers Cameron and Raymond, and previously held ownership in Maunaloa General Store.
John recently completed his term on the Molokai Planning Commission, where he was was appointed in 2017, and continues to live on the west side of Molokai with his wife Nani.
